The Suzie Scarf

$3.50

The Suzie Scarf is an easy crochet pattern, perfect for new crocheters as it uses basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, and simple color changes! This cozy scarf features a simple pattern repeat that is a cinch to learn, and produces a beautiful texture that looks gorgeous in both variegated and tonal colorways. The scarf featured in this pattern is stitched using worsted weight yarn, although you are encouraged to experiment with different yarn weights – this pattern will work with many different yarn weights.

In this PDF pattern, you will find:

  • A detailed 24-page tutorial with 43 step-by-step color photos that teach you exactly how to crochet this scarf (including photos showing you where to place your hook and stitches!)

  • Instructions provided for creating the foundation chain, subsequent colorblocked rows, changing colors, weaving in all ends, and adding fringe

  • A comprehensive supply list

  • A detailed size chart ranging from ranging from 3 Years to a Men’s Large is included, and I provide tips on how to adjust the width of your scarf to range from skinny to wide; please note this hat is stitched according to measurements, rather than stitch counts or gauge, so you can easily customize your scarf for the perfect fit

  • Tips that are written as if I am teaching a good friend, so you will encounter minimal abbreviations or crochet jargon

  • Instructions written in US terms using American English

  • NOTE: The photo tutorial is included after the written pattern; I recommend either printing out the entire pattern and placing the pages side by side so you can view the photos and text at the same time, or printing only the written pattern and referencing the photos on your device as needed.

Although the instructions are very detailed, I recommend you be familiar with the following stitches that are used in this hat:

  • Foundation chain stitches

  • Slip stitches

  • Single crochet stitches

  • Double crochet stitches

There are a TON of crochet scarf patterns out there, so why should you try this one? I have written my Suzie Scarf pattern as if I am teaching a good friend, and use straightforward instructions with minimal crochet jargon so you do not have to worry about deciphering the pattern while you stitch. I also include 40+ color photos that accompany the step-by-step instructions, starting from the foundation chain to adding the fringe, so you can see exactly where to place your hook and stitches! Instructions for creating the foundation chain, subsequent colorblocked rows, changing colors, weaving in all ends, and adding fringe are included.
