Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background

When I was first experimenting with embroidery, learning various basic stitches and composition within a circular frame, I leaned into translating iconic artworks into embroidery. One of my favorites was Vincent van Gogh’s 1889 painting, Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background, on view at a special exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in 2019.
