Sunflowers

I stitched this embroidery hoop without a plan while binge listening to the newly-released podcast My Favorite Murder. I kept my stitches loose yet layered, channeling my inner painter as I emulated Vincent van Gogh’s Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers (1888). Even today, it’s still one of my favorite hoops, if only for the fact that there’s zero chance I could ever recreate it; I took no notes and used a bag of very cheap embroidery thread that split like crazy and lacked a dye lot.
