Tomato Soup

One of my very first embroidery hoops! The lines are wonky, the stitches are overly puffy, and I learned a tough lesson on how delicate needles can be (I broke at least two thin needles fighting my way through thick fabric). So many lessons in such a little piece! This embroidery hoop is another “translation” project based on Any Warhol’s soup can iconography, which is frequently on display at the Broad Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
