The Bobbles and Stripes Blanket

$5.50

My Bobbles and Stripes Blanket is an easy crochet pattern, ideal for enthusiastic beginners as it uses a variety of basic crochet stitches and easy color changes. This listing is for a printable PDF pattern and includes the following:

  • Comprehensive supply list with shoppable links

  • Detailed 59-page tutorial with 117 step-by-step color photos

  • Row-by-row instructions are provided to recreate the sample blanket exactly as pictured, as well as the pattern repeat so that you may adjust the blanket’s dimensions to your ideal size

  • Tips for washing and blocking your finished blanket, plus weaving in all yarn tails

Pattern Overview:

  • Written in American English with US terms

  • All instructions are fully written out as if I am teaching a good friend, so you’ll encounter minimal abbreviations or crochet jargon. For example, here's a sample "standard" pattern row instruction: Ch 2, sc, [2dc, sc, sk, sc]. Rpt across and turn. In my writing style, the pattern would read: Chain 2, then single crochet into the first stitch of the previous row. For the remainder of the row, you will crochet the following stitch pattern: place 2 double crochet stitches into the same stitch, single crochet into the next stitch, skip the next stitch, and then single crochet in the next stitch. You will end the row with a single crochet stitch. When you reach the end of the row, turn your work.

Main Stitches and Techniques Used: Chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, working back and forth

How to use this file:

  • You may access your downloadable PDF on your personal device (desktop computer, iPad, etc.), or print it. This pattern is formatted for 8.5x11” paper (US Letter).

  • Each of my patterns are designed to be easy to read (size 12 font, black text, white background), with minimal jargon or abbreviations

  • The total PDF page count is 59, with pages 5-27 dedicated to executing the pattern

  • The photo tutorial is included after the written pattern; I recommend either printing out the entire pattern and placing the pages side by side so you can view the photos and text at the same time, or printing only the written pattern and referencing the photos on your device as needed.
